I met Dion Roy just over a year ago when he played a show on Main Street in Middletown CT and since that day I’ve been a huge fan. After playing his set with Peter Roessler he came over to the bar where a friend and I were sitting and instantly began asking us what we thought – wanting feedback and wanting to make new friends. Dion, despite having huge talent, is a real person who cares about his fans- which is the number one reason I am a fan.
The number two reason I am such a Dion Roy fan is his music. When I first became a fan Dion handed me a copy of “Gallery” his first album and I played it constantly. Then he released “The Nearest Light” featuring one of my favorite songs titled “Dirty Hotel Scenery” which was inspired by a dirty hotel in my home state of Connecticut. Yesterday Dion hosted the release party for his newest album “Welcome Home” which features guest performances by Tyler Hilton and Josiah Leming.
You could feel Dion’s passion for his music as he was on stage and the support from his band mates as well during the show. His albums are available on iTunes and you can check him out on facebook. You won’t regret doing so.
