When you live in New England you’re used to the vibrant colors of fall leaves as they change in preparation for the winter. It’s easy to say “yeah they’re pretty” but gripe as you rake them from your yards and scoop them from your gutters. Caitlin & Rick’s wedding in the Catskills has given me a new appreciation for the colors of fall. As Tim & I drove out to Caitlin’s family house up high on a hill the leaves seemed to become more and more vibrant. The trees reflected the emotions of the day – the excitement in orange, happiness in yellow and the love in red spread across our view.
At the family home Caitlin and her bridesmaids were buzzing around preparing for the day. We felt welcomed right into the excitement as we walked in the door. The wedding station was set on Pandora which brought an occasional round of tears from all the ladies usually started by Caitlin’s Mom or future Mother-in-law. We were right in the middle of pure joy. The groom and the rest of the guys readied themselves at the Emerson after a morning of playing yard games. Rick and the guys dressed quickly so when I say they “readied themselves” what I mean is they enjoyed a few beers together, watched some golf and posed for a few formal photos. It was an easy afternoon for the fun group of guys.
The ceremony was held outside the Catamount Restaurant at the Emerson. Caitlin met her groom at the end of the aisle after having been escorted by her father. They were married in a unforgettable ceremony held on the edge of the river that sang its song throughout the day.
The staff at the Catamount seamlessly transformed the ceremony area into the reception area during cocktail hour and the party began. Once the dance floor was cleared of seating there was always someone on it. The party roared on into the evening and continued on long into the night.
Congratulations Caitlin & Rick – Tim & I couldn’t be happier for you! Thank you for inviting us to join in your amazing wedding celebration!
